Parksville Ballet School has operated for over 30 years and has always been a valuable asset to the Parksville-Qualicum community.  In order for us to ensure that our goals are met as an educational institution, and in order to provide a wonderful creative outlet for our children, support of school policies require parents and teachers to work closely together.

School Policies

  • Parksville Ballet School reserves the right to determine the proper class level for all entering students
  • You are requested to advise by phone  (leave a message) when you will not be attending class due to illness or other
  • Teachers & directors will make every effort to be available to address your questions, and will return your phone calls promptly
  • Parksville Ballet School reserves the right to cancel any classes due to insufficient registration
  • Teachers and schedules are subject to change without notice

Refunds
All classes are pre-paid and there will be no refunds on missed classes, no carrying forward of lessons, and no transfer to other students.  Students are expected to complete the entire school season (Sept ~ June), and regardless of whether or not students remain in classes until the end of June, fees are to be paid for the full season.

Holidays
Fees are based on the number of weeks that classes are held in a season.   Some months will have 4 classes and some will have 5.  P.B.S is closed for statutory holidays.  If you feel you are short a class due to this, please call the office to arrange a make-up class.  P.B.S is open on Pro-D days, but closed during school vacation (Christmas & Spring Break).  In case of snow, P.B.S is only closed if school busses stop running.

Dress Code
Students are expected to wear proper dance wear.  Please refer to the pertinent level on this web site for appropriate attire.  Please keep all valuables at home, and do not wear any jewellery, bracelets, friendship bracelets, anklets and watches.

Lost & Found
Located in the dressing room hamper, the lost and found will be donated to the SOS on the first Monday of each month, so please check it regularly.

Young Students
Parents are encouraged to drop off and pick up their children in the main lobby.  Please stay with your child until they enter their class and please do not let them go down to the parking lot alone.  Teachers are only responsible for students inside the classroom.

Procedure to Address a Concern

1 If you have any concerns you should: Speak directly to the class teacher by phone or in person
2 If the issue is not resolved then: Speak to Mrs. Klassen
